This is Ella, an adorable 3 year old GSD. Today DBM was called in by Kirstie and Ashton, her owners, to address a few issues. Kirstie is a busy young lady, helping Ashton run the family business and being a mother to Zachariah, 2, and Isabella who is only 6 months old! So obviously controlling the house and Ella as well becomes a bit of a juggling act, and quite understandably it was all starting to get a bit too much for Kirstie, even to a point where getting a new home for Ella was discussed. So we started an intensive DBM program for Ella, simply by going back to basics and restructuring the environment to work for Kirstie, instead of against her, things very quickly turned around. There is still work to be done, however Kirstie now has all of the tools and knowledge that she needs to proceed, so a big DBM well done to all involved today, keep up the good work.
Here’s what Kirstie wrote afterwards…
What Malcolm told us today was so simple yet made so much sense. We tried to over complicate things but going back to basics and learning how to communicate like a dog really is the best advice.
Our gsd Ella was so boisterous at the front door when we had visitors, or she would just bolt – not after Malcolm came to see her. Don’t get me wrong, we have a long way to go – but we have the right tools to succeed now!!
